For all speedway fans, the off season is an agonising time. Some kill it by
going to the States to watch the racing, maybe crew or even race themselves.
Sammy Walsh took a trip over to crew and has recently returned ready and raring
to go, with a brand new car, sitting awaiting him to fire her up and get some
business done on the Tyrepower Parramatta City Raceway clay. The 2005/2006 Coca Cola Sprintcar Track Championship Rookie of the Year has a
brand spanking new Cool Chassis this season and is hoping to improve on his
impressive 11th place of last season.
The #92 EWT machine is powered by a 410ci Garrett motor, and run by the
experienced Peter Johnston who also gave Robbie Farr a helping hand.
“I am definitely looking forward to this season! I was fortunate enough to go
to the States and crew but I can’t wait to fire up my own car and race
again.”
The Coca Cola Sprintcar Track Championship will be held over 22 Rounds this
Summer, commencing Saturday, September 30 with the prestigious Spring Nationals
to kick off the new season. Walsh will be battling 56 of his fellow drivers to
take out the win and looks forward to racing against every single one of them.
Regardless of results, the Gasman is just out there to have a good time and
put on an entertaining show for the fans and never fails in doing that!
