Sammy Walsh been one
of the local stand outs at the Tyrepower Parramatta
City Raceway and with the tough American challenge Sammy
has shown why he’s called “the gas man.” But last
Saturday night a lack of brakes saw his #92 Maxim being
forced out of the 30 lap A Main leaving a disappointed
Sam Walsh a spectator for most of the A Main race.

Sam qualified a little
further back in position 19 in the early qualifying
time trails but in heat 3 he simply “gassed up” his
machine and took out an easy race victory. Drama hit
when Sam returned into the pits with the rear end of
his machine on fire, luckily the crash crew were quickly
on hand putting out the fire. The team found it was
a brake problem and while Sam was set to start the A
Main out of position 14 he elected to start from the
rear. With the lack of brakes Sam decided to retire
back into the pits.
“The car was awesome
and I’m disappointed after loosing brakes after the
heat race. I had to retire in the Main due to the lack
of brakes, I nearly hit Steve Kinser!”
